1974 Maxi-Korg Restoration

Vintage music synthesizers possess a unique kind of magic. Before the era of powerful microcomputers, electronic instrument manufacturers employed signal generation and filtering techniques borrowed from electrical engineering to create innovative musical devices. The inventiveness and enchantment of these designs continue to captivate sonic explorers, even though many of these devices are temperamental, misbehaving beasts in various states of decay or disrepair

This Maxi-Korg from 1974 is one such faltering sonic monster. It showed up in a box from Florida, rattling with loose screws, broken keys and dead spiders. It would not power on and the intricate wiring harness was broken in several places.
I have rescued and restored dozens of vintage synthesizers and electric pianos over the years but I thought this MaxiKorg from 1979 deserved some special documentation
